Cross
Country Stitching Features
Cross Country Stitching
is created for cross stitchers at all levels of experience but who share
one thing in common - they stitch for fun and personal reward. Stitchers
love this magazine because they'll finish what they start and they'll
enjoy every minute they've invested. Each
magazine features delightful and inspiring designs such as: samplers,
seasonal themes, gardens & florals, country kitchens, Noah's Ark,
baskets, bird houses, and collectibles. Plus a Favorite recipe thrown
in each issue...and much more!
The magazine has about 15 to 20 charts in each issue. From those charts,
you can create 20 to 30 projects complete with full-color pictures,
including the main project and numerous smaller projects.
In each issue,
we also have sections on Basic Stitches, Special Stitches, Measuring
Your Fabric and Changing Skintones for your projects. Each issue also
has permanent features such as the 24-Hour Stitch Bug (which is self-explanatory);
Collectibles - which is a series of three or four designs from issue
to issue; and Hearts 'n' Stitches - which has design featuring hearts
and sometimes special stitches. Some past projects include - afghans,
bobbin boxes, Shaker nesting boxes, needlecases, checkbook covers, pillows,
ornaments, and baskets.
A lot of the patterns
have scripture incorporated into the designs. But don’t back away
from this magazine if you don’t want scripture in any of your
designs and you still like country. Not all the patterns contain scripture
and you can stitch the designs and leave out the scripture if you don't
want it in your design. Most of the scripture is done in backstitch
and could be left out, in a lot of cases, without damaging the beauty
of the design. If you like you could just fill that place in with a
different saying, add a little more design or use buttons, beads or
other accessories.
Throughout the magazine
you will see photos depicting accessories to go with the cross stitch
projects therein, prices and how to order them, as well. You
can order them through the FREE catalog or on our website.
