Should I pre-wash my cross-stitch fabrics?

Unless the fabric or kit packaging specifically says otherwise - no! Most fabrics has a sizing which helps to maintain their body and keep their shape, thus making them easier to work on. Also, many fabrics shrink slightly when washed, some more than others, thus shrinking the holes that you'll be looking for!
