1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 well-beaten egg
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk
2 cups fresh blueberries

Topping:

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, melted

Thoroughly cream shortening and 1/2 cup sugar; add egg and mix well. Sift 2 cups flour, salt and baking powder; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Pour into wax paper lined 8-inch square pan and sprinkle blueberries over batter.
Topping: Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour, cinnamon and butter until crumbly; sprinkle over blueberries. Bake at 350 for 75 minutes.
