Mix together:
1/2 cup shortening or Crisco
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs

Stir in:
1 cup thick Sour Cream
1 tsp vanilla

Sift together and stir in:

2 3/4 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Red and Green jimmies (optional)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Chill dough at least 1 hour. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls about 2" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Add red & green jimmies to top of cookies. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until delicately browned, until when touched lightly with finger almost no imprint remains.
Makes about 2 dozen.
