Happy
2005!
I love winter. Nothing is so heartwarming to me as a pot of soup simmering
on the stove and seeing my kitties resting snugly in their quilts.
I love to watch the bright red cardinals leave the comfort of the
nesting pockets to nibble at the feeder. The nesting pockets are a
hit. We nailed them to posts and then lined them with leftover woolen
scraps for added warmth. I wonder if anyone will take up residence
in the owl house this winter.
My husband refuses to put up the bat house, but I haven't lost hope.
Maybe I can find a spot where he won't see it. I'll have to answer
in the spring. But like a friend used to say, "sometimes it's
better to explain later than to ask permission first."
Every afternoon hymns chime softly from the steeple in the church
around the corner. Winter forces life to move slowly, giving me time
to enjoy these little blessings.
Well Clancy and Rascal will be 5 this year, and I will turn ??? I'm
going to start counting backwards - just like when I stitch. And I
found a secret place for the bat house.
Happy Winter Stitchin'
Sincerely,
Linda
